About Us

Valarie Manning is a special education teacher with over 30 years experience in both public and private education. She has taught students with autism, emotional needs and learning disabilities. She is Wilson Certified, and currently teaches specialized reading in middle school.

Since 2011, Valarie has been the owner of One to One Advocacy and Tutoring, advocating for families and helping/tutoring students. She specializes in supporting families entering the Committee on Special Education (CSE) process, navigating the CCSE and annual review process, and reviewing and rewriting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) when needed. Valarie has represented families in person and virtually, helping them advocate for themselves during meetings.

Valarie has also tutored since 2010, specializing in teaching reading to struggling students, students with dyslexia, and students with specific learning disabilities in reading and writing. Additionally, she has tutored elementary math as well as social studies, and English up to the Regents level.

Her extensive experience, dedication to student success, and ability to empower families have made her a trusted advocate and educator. She brings a wealth of knowledge and a compassionate approach to every student and family she supports.

Valarie is married with two sons. She enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, reading, playing golf, and getting together with friends.
